We were first inspired to open Grasshopper Restaurant in 2012 after noticing a specific lack of fusion plant-based cooking in North America. We wanted a place with a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere and a focus on diverse, but approachable flavours. After spending some time touring the culinary community in Toronto and attending a vegan culinary course at George Brown College, it became apparent that Toronto was the ideal place for our dream to come true.
It took a lot of effort, thought and time, but it all payed off with the welcoming arms of the Toronto community. We opened Grasshopper College on March 3rd 2013 and have been been serving unique, tasty and affordable plant-based food ever since.
We were so excited to be able to launch our second location in the Junction on April 1st 2016 alongside some of the best restaurants in the city. It was our goal to bring a new plant-based space to the Junction community by keeping things unique and fresh. Again, we were thrilled by the way the community embraced us.
We hope to keep on changing, evolving and expanding into more communities soon.
We’d love to meet you.
